Oloolmongi Primary School Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony (From March 9, 2015)

Last Tuesday, Anne and the entire AKTF staff joined the Oloolomongi Primary School at a ribbon cutting ceremony for the three new classrooms we built at the end of 2014. With the addition of the new building, Oloolomongi Primary School can now accommodate all grades up through Standard 6. At the ceremony, the children danced and sang in their uniforms, and Anne and the community leaders — including the Assistant Chief — made speeches to affirm our shared hopes for the growing school. This construction project could not have been possible without generous support from our sponsors, and we wish that everyone who helped make it possible could have been there to celebrate with us. Education is the key to longterm conservation success in Maasai Mara, and we are proud to facilitate projects like the one at Oloolmongi.

The school community — students, teachers, parents, and community members — gathered to raise the Kenyan flag.
