More Elephant Tusks Recovered

A part from de-snaring, AKTF team and MC rangers collects the Elephant tusks which are sometimes recovered from old carcass inside the park. Some of these elephants die when they are speared with a poisoned arrow or spear away from the park but then they run to safer places before they die. The photo below was taken from the elephant that died few weeks ago. We couldn’t tell whether it was poached or died naturally since the whole carcass was already eaten by the hyenas. Later the tusks were handed over to K.W.S. As always, we conduct our patrols on foot in order to see more and to keep the area safe for the wildlife. We also mark the locations with a GPS for documentation.
