Giraffe Poaching

Last week AKTF & MC Rangers removed many strong wire snares that were set to catch the giraffes. Again one giraffe was caught in one of the snares and the carcass was eaten by the hyenas. It seems that poachers are out in the field only to kill certain animals for bush meat. It’s also suspected that the rise in numbers of bush meat consumers is driving the poachers to specifically kill big animals in order to get a lot of meat at once. However, the team is on the look out in order to arrest them & destroy their activities. During the same week the team discovered another skeleton of an adult elephant without the tusks along the border. More patrols are going on in most of the poaching hotspots to prevent more wildlife from dying because of the poaching activities.
